As a creature of habit, for several years Lacoste was the trainer of choice, perhaps prioritising styling over comfort. Getting no younger, something with a more 'springy' support was required than that on offer from Lacoste's fairly flat-bottomed range. Other than some periodic gym gear over the years, NB was a new one to me with regard to trainers and it proved a worthwhile swap. The 500v1 Core Trainer is a lightweight option, with a nice, dark-coloured, decently gripped sole (though wet supermarket-style floors are cause for concern) and an overall robust composition. By measurement I am actually a size 10 in shoes but tend to buy slightly larger as any item of clothing marginally too big is far more acceptable than cramming into something too small - the 10.5 sizing here is spot on and leaves ample room without being loose. With the American-style trainer taper at the front these can look good with jeans or trackies as you choose. I tend to opt for dark-coloured shoes as they are easier to keep clean (for suede, a knife edge almost unbelievably works best, don't waste coin on erasers, cleaners or throwing vinegar at stains), though the white trim, as seems to feature on almost all trainers, proves something of a mare in this.This is the first negative review I have done on Amazon.These trainers are not bona fide ‘New Balance’.They are flimsy,Lightweight (no support).The outer sole is like cardboard the inner sole is too thin.If they were on sale in Shoezone for £8.99 I might use them for the garden but I paid £65 of my hard earned dosh.They came all the way from Italy( I thought they could make shoes?)Obviously I have returned them this morning not without a lot of hassle finding a DHL drop off point that wasn’t mentioned anywhere on the return notes☹️.Don’t waste your time and money.1 star for colour only?Been wearing NB trainers all my life as they seem to be wider than other trainers. Bought these and liked them out the box however after wearing for a few hours they are so uncomfortable and narrow. I'm now doubting if these are real or fake !Liked these while I could wear them but they are now useless as the sole has come away from the uppers. Would not recommend.Nice looking trainers and very light and comfy. Went for the Dark grey/light. I would advice to go half a size up as NB trainers can be tight fitting.
